A great Cover of a well known Barry White song by a guitarist who’s music has been described as “‘Smooth Jazz mixed with Latin Rock- -Kind of like, Carlos Santana meets Larry Carlton.’

Russ Hewitt
(Track listing approved by Artist)
An artist who blends Latin, jazz and flamenco styles. This is guitarist Russ Hewitt from his  debut solo album called Bajo el Sol.

Mario Grigorov
(Track listing approved by Artist)
A composer and pianist  who’s originally from Bulgaria. Who, according to a recent write-up in, was trying out some instruments in a piano store when Bob James walked in, and was very impressed. Mario has a new album in 2009 called “Paris to Cuba” .

One choice for the soul selection this week!
A great song from a British Soul Group that appeared  on the music scene in the late 70s.  Delegation had an great album in 1979 called Eau De Vie .

Swing Out Sister
In our show that features Smooth Jazz, Soul, Jazz Funk, and more, the Bring It Back Section begins with an awesome song that probably fits in the “and more” category.  A song by a band who’s world is – to quote the notes in the CD liner – one of harmonic sophistication – where whimsy and sensuality join together in an aural playground.  Check out this great song fom their 1997 Album “Shapes & Patterns”

Johnathan Butler

A beautiful smooth sound from a 1997 album that combines soulful songs with gr8 smooth guitar numbers on one cd, from the twice Grammy nominated songwriter, guitarist, and producer, Jonathan Butler .

Not a disco song but something here thats a bit more mellow from French disco drummer, singer-songwriter and record producer, who created some amazing disco hits in the late seventies, its Cerrone with an inspiring track from his album Cerrone IV : The Golden Touch

Donald Harrison
Here’s one of the Prof’s all time favourites from an artist who’s first goal is to be a master of jazz, as  read in the CD liner of his 1994 album called ‘The Power Of Cool’.

Soul To Soul
An up tempo gem from a 1989 CD with an unexpexted but clever title – Club Classics Volume 1.

Pat Metheney Group
To complete the show ,  an awesome track from a critically acclaimed, highly successfull  and multi grammy award winning guitarist and composer; and a track from an excellent album of 1989 from the group he leads and lends his name.  Visit his website and read about his new projects, podcast’s and a ton aof great music.

And that is it – Thanks Prof

The next show – well when the doc gets back the Prof will be away
watch this space via the musical & international frontier!
