Welcome to the latest Episode of the Smooth Groovers Review.
Season 4, episode 26, hence: SG4-26 and we’re a bit early this week.

This week we start the show, as we often do with another tune from the world of TV and film.
This time its the theme to Stingray. A 1964 Sc i-Fi action series that we enjoyed as kids
(and some still today!). The theme was written by Barry Gray.

In the spirit of the holiday season and to celebrate the recent release of the album, Alexis has scheduled two concerts which will benefit World Bicycle Relief, an organization which provides sustainable access to healthcare, education, and economic opportunities in developing nations through The Power of Bicycles©. Portions of CD sales will also benefit this cause.

Bobbi Humphrey – Interestingly, the first female artist to be signed to Blue Note Records and also known as the, ‘First Lady of the Flute’. This is a a great song from her 1973 album called entitled, ‘Blacks and Blues’.
Doc Powell – A track by this Grammy Winning artist from his self titled CD
Burt Bacharach – from the 2005 CD – At This Time. Burt Bacharach is one of the most accomplished popular composers of the 20th Century.
Tricatel Inc – Providing a bit of ambient chill with a gentle beat from a German band – a collaboration of Martin Sennebogen and Marco Koestler, multi-instrumentalist and composer.
Breakfast Band – A British jazz-funk band that makes you want to dance on Caribbean Island beach, Enjoy this track from the 1976 album called Dolphin Ride. The associated artist is Richard Bailey. Well , that is it for the last of the regular format shows for season 4. There will be some changes to the format to look forward to in season 5 (starting Jan 2010).
